Top 10 Disney World Snacks
As any Disney lover will know, there is nothing better than Disney food. The food in itself is an attraction, if you know what to get and where to get it!
This will be the first post in an ongoing series talking about my top 10 lists of everything Disney and today we are starting with snacks! Some of these could fall into the dessert category but we all know that when you are on vacation, dessert time is any time! Without further ado, let's get into it!
10. Croissant Donut at Refreshment Port in Epcot World Showcase
I tried one of these for the first time at the Food and Wine Festival last year. I fell in love and raved about them to my family. I was so disappointed that I wouldn't be able to get another until the festival this year. Then, on my next trip to Epcot I realized that it wasn't part of the festival and that you can get them any time. They are crispy, sweet, buttery and all around fantastic!
9. Cream Cheese Pretzel from the Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland (and many other places)
Any time I saw these on a menu I thought that they would be disgusting. Well, I was wrong. It is a really good pretzel filled with a sweet cheese filling similar to what would be in a good cheese danish. They are warm and have cinnamon on them and are a perfect treat!
8. Pocky from Japan Pavillon at Epcot
While not technically a Disney food, it is something I get at Disney. These are thin biscuit sticks covered in some of the most delicious chocolate that I have ever had. My tip is to buy more than one box. I bought one box when I was at Epcot earlier this week. I finished it on the drive home. I ordered a case on Amazon as soon as I got home. They are that addictive.
7. Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich from Sleepy Hollow in Magic Kingdom
This could be a snack or even a light meal. The waffles at Sleepy Hollow are perfect any time of the day. They also have specialty sandwiches of which my favorite is the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle. The chicken has just enough spice to it to make it delicious and the waffle is out of this world. The slaw adds a nice balance to it and let's be honest, that may be as close as you get to vegetables on vacation.
6. Dole Whip from Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom
I'm going to be honest, I have never tried Dole Whip. I know, I know. It's not that I don't want to. I always tell myself that I am going to but I end up getting something else. Next time, I promise.
5. Cinnamon Roll from Gaston's Tavern in Magic Kingdom
Like most, I was skeptical about the Cinnamon Rolls moving from Main Street. However, I shouldn't have worried. These are fantastic! They are sweet and soft and as big as your head. They are also served warm. One hint, sometimes things happen and the one you get won't be warm. Go back up and tell the cast member. They are happy to get you a warm one and they are so much better when they are warm like they are supposed to be.
4. Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich from Any Ice Cream Cart in Walt Disney World
I know for most people it is all about the Mickey Premium bar but for me, the Ice Cream Sandwich is where it's at. It is a fantastic cold treat for all of those hot Florida days at the parks and you get ice cream AND cookies. How do you beat that?
3. Baked Potato from Liberty Square Market in Magic Kingdom
If you are looking for something more substantial and in the category of "real food," look no farther than Liberty Square Market. You can get a hot, baked potato with all of the fixings. There have been many times where I have used this as a light lunch, especially if we have an early dinner ADR, but still need something. Also, I believe that they may have added sweet potatoes, but don't hold me to that.
2. Croque Glace from L''Artisans des Glaces in France in Epcot World Showcase
If I could only eat one thing at Disney for the rest of my life, this would be it. And, I don't even like ice cream. This is a fresh brioche roll, filled with the amazing ice cream of your choice, topped with caramel, raspberry or chocolate sauce and then put into a hot press to warm it and seal the bread. I know it sounds strange, but it is the best dessert in the parks in my opinion. I typically
1. Mickey Pretzel from Carts in all parks
I love pretzels. I love Mickey Mouse. I love Mickey Pretzels. These are available at carts all over all 4 parks. They are soft and warm and perfect with cheese sauce. There is no such thing as too many Mickey pretzels on a trip.
What are some of your favorite snacks in the parks? I would love to know because I am always looking to try new ones!
